      The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District art show at Heyde Center for the Arts

      Exhibit opens Monday May 4 and runs until Friday, May 15th,  Monday - Thursday 10 am to 5 pm; Friday 10 am to 4 pm.  Artist Reception: Thursday, May 7 from 4:30   6:30 p.m. The Heyde Center for the Arts is committed to collaboration with area schools to promote arts education. During the month of May, art from the Chippewa Falls elementary schools, middle school and high school will abound at the Center when it hosts the 2015 Student Art Show. An exciting exhibit that enables the children to receive recognition for their talents and allow the entire community to enjoy. No cost to the public.

      The Annual Stamp Out Hunger

      food drive, run by the National Association of Letter Carriers, asks individuals to leave nonperishable food donations at their mail boxes. These are collected and delivered to local food pantries at a critical time when needs increase because free school lunch programs are not available during the summer.• United Way is recruiting volunteers to drive out to postal routes and collect food at residences in both Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. The 14 selected were judged on the plot, the audio and visual qualities, and the strength of the film editing.       Great Steps 4NF hosted by Alex and Cora of Waxx 104.5

      10 am walk at 11am at Irvine park (Main pavilion) Chippewa Falls. This walk is to benefit and bring awareness to Neurofibromatosis (NF), Nf  is a genetic disorder that effects 1 in every 2,500-3,000 people and is not gender, race or age specific. Cost is $20. in advance or $25 at the walk, registration fee is waived if $100 in donations is raised.  The money raised helps those effected by NF and helps the financial cost of the research.For more information call  630-945-3562.

      Parkview and Southview Color-A-Thon

      Registration begins at 8am 3K or 5K Run/walk begins at 9:00am. at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Parkview and Southview Elementary Schools in Chippewa Falls are sponsoring our firs annual Community Color-A-Thon event. The cost to register for this walk/run is only $30 and includes a Free T-Shirt. After the event, there will be a Color Blast After Party with music and Big Blasts of Color. Proceeds will go to the schools and be used to fund extra activities, projects and field trips not covered by school budgets.

      Oz Run

      The Oz Run is at the Northern Wisconsin State fairgrounds, Chippewa Falls. Race Times are 8:00am for the 1/2 Marathon and 8:30 am for the 5K. The Oz Run will help raise money to benefit the new Welcome Center at Irvine Park, as well as the Veterans Assistance Foundation and the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls. The Oz Run is a 13.1 half marathon and a 5K run/walk.Dressing up is COMPLETELY encouraged, but not required but there will be prizes for the best individual costumes, as well as prizes for the best group costumes. 715-379-6640.

      Chippewa Falls Bernard F. Willi Municipal Pool

      June 6 through August 23, 2015 Chippewa Falls Bernard F. Willi Municipal Pool will be open. Located across from Irvine Park this public outdoor pool has a zero depth area with small fountains and dumping buckets for younger children and a deeper area, reaching a maximum depth of 5 feet, and a 256 ft. linear slide that empties into the pool. There is a minimal entrance fee per person to help maintain the pool. You will find it to be a great place to swim on a hot summer day. Hours: M-F 12-6, Sa/ Su 1-6pm 715-726-2733 in season.

      Irvine Park Petting Zoo

      Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day Weekend, Daily 10am-6pm. The Petting Zoo has a variety of friendly farm animals including: pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys, rabbits, baby chicks, a pony, and an iguana. Kids are invited to explore the Petting Zoo and learn about the animals through touch and play. Admission to the petting zoo is free but donations are appreciated.Irvine Park summer hours will be 7:00am to dark. Irvine Park offers a variety of activities and sports for people of all ages. There are horseshoe pits, picnic grounds, hiking trails, playgrounds, bird watching, and a sand volleyball court.
